"You know who you are.
You're sitting close enough to the front to feel the music loud, but a couple rows back so no one really, really notices you singing your heart out. I see you.
You come to church every week, a tad early, and rarely late. However, it's not because you're one of those people who show up before the previews in a movie theater (you know who you are), but because you'd rather push over that greeter than miss the first song. And if you do come in a little late, you're singing the minute you hear the words clear enough. I see you."
"For the first time in my life, I was doubting the goodness of my God.
I was ashamed of that entry. I never wanted anyone to read it. It was ugly and ridden with guilt. How could I doubt what I'd known for so long to be true?
Later that night, while I clung to my journal in one hand and my husband in the other, he asked gently, Can I read your journal?"
No way, I responded.
"Deep down I knew, if someone handed me a singer/songwriter contract, I would have taken it in a millisecond. It was my dream job. But dream jobs are hard to come by. And as a 16 year old, thinking about college degrees, "Bachelor in Singer/Songwriter-dom" was laughable.
Dreams don't happen in a moment. They happen over thousands of moments stacked on top of one another. They happen by sewing one stitch at a time, in the direction the fabric leads."
"Robbery. It leaves us full and fat with spiritual things. It leaves us over stuffed and selfishly hoarding the message of peace and grace and love of God. Worship without compassion robs those around us from encountering God."
"Trust is an enigma, its almost always preceded with a great amount of fear but once you engage it, it'll set you free."
Are you a woman? Do you like to sing? Have you thought or even dreamed about using your voice in your local church? Do you feel ill equipped to do what you do?
Well, you're not. Your church needs you. The following course is an unrefined combination of the two, specifically for women and girls who have any and every desire to pursue any realm or degree of worship leading.
Since the launch of One Half Worship Coaching, I have met with dozens of girls and women, just like us, who have the heart of worship for their local church. They just don't know how to get to the next level.
Let me walk you through it. I'll buy your coffee.
One Half Worship Coaching is a personal trainer of sorts, for any girl or woman, involved, or burnt out in worship. It is designed to equip women with confidence, clarity, purpose and skill set or a modern day worship leader.
The name "One Half" comes from the philosophy that men and women each make up "one half" of the Church, and therefore both are vital and necessary to the health of a vibrant gathering.
Because worship is burning inside you and you have to do something about it.
For thousands of years, the people of God have been writing and singing, dancing and playing worship songs for their generations (and the ones to follow). Somewhere down that line, the headmasters of worship became mostly male driven and, I believe, the Church has taken a hit for it.
I am not a feminist about women's reign and world domination. However, I do believe that if the Church is going to function as God intended, with both men and women as vital parts of it, we must "unlock" the other half of our congregations.
That's where you come in.
You've come this far because you feel it too.
You want to be valued, utilized and mobilized in an area you've identified God calling you.
You may or may not finish this coaching term with the desires you thought you had, but together we'll explore, hand in hand, where God might be calling you and what you can do about it.
Don't have 4-6 weeks to commit? Let's do a Mini Session.
And if you got a lot out of your session (which I promise you will), the investment you made will be credited towards the full One Half Worship Coaching Course.*
