READ Matthew 5:23-24 —
"So if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and while there you remember that your brother has something [such as a grievance or legitimate complaint] against you, leave your offering there at the altar and go. First make peace with your brother, and then come and present your offering."
When there are passages that are dealing specifically with worship, we should read them, process them, debate about them, and really try to thoroughly figure out what it's trying to communicate to us.
So how literally do we take this verse??
“I take it pretty literally. When I remember, when the Lord reminds me, as quickly as possible, I step towards reconciliation. I grab my phone or approach the person, apologize and ask if we can have a conversation.”
This passage is less about a rule and more about a HEART POSTURE.
The posture of your heart, a spirit of offense, can block you from receiving what God has for you in this season.
Heart Posture Check and Balance:
Are you bending grace out to others often?
Are you asking for forgiveness often?
